Ash Walsh endures a tough Townsville Dunlop Series Round

SimPRO V8 Supercar driver Ash Walsh felt the highs and lows of competition at Round 3 of the 2012 Dunlop Series in Townsville on Sunday. After a strong performance in the opening race, the field lined up for race two with the top 10 finishers flipped into a reverse grid. Again there was action from the green light with frontrunners Pye, Blanchard and Mostert all getting involved in incidents on Lap 1. This left Walsh in position 6 and he was soon up a spot only to be passed by a very fast Scott McLaughlin. Ash Walsh continues fine form in Race 1 at the Townsville 400

simPRO V8 Supercar driver Ash Walsh has continued his stellar run in the 2012 Dunlop Series by coming home in 5th place in the opening 14 lap race. This result adds to the other three Top 5’s to date out of the 6 races run so far in 2012.

Qualifying found the Matt Stone Racing Team making significant changes between runs in the 30 minute session. Walsh was confident that the changes to the set up were heading in the right direction however with good sector times on various laps; his best single lap time saw him finish in position 9. Ash Walsh in the Top 10 at Townsville 400

simPRO V8 Supercar driver Ash Walsh has once again put the #87 Matt Stone Racing Falcon into the Top 10 during practice today for Round 3 of the Dunlop Series. The 24 car field had two 40 minute sessions today at the Townsville street circuit and Walsh was in the lead group in both sessions to be finally classified 9th. Ash Walsh ready for Townsville V8 Supercar street fight

Dunlop Series V8 Supercar driver Ash Walsh heads to Round 3 of the series ready to do battle on the tough Townsville street circuit this weekend. With a striking new livery on the #87 simPRO Falcon, Walsh completed a very successful test day last Friday and once again the Matt Stone Racing team made gains in the set up and outright speed of the Falcon.

To cap a big week for Walsh, major sponsor simPRO have launched a novel promotion culminating in the winner joining simPRO Racing, Walsh and the Matt Stone Team at Bathurst in October.
