A wet Friday littered with Red Flags did little to assist Ash Walsh and the Infant’s Friend / MSR team in preparation for the first of three Dunlop Series Rounds. A change in the shock package to the MSR Falcons meant the team were looking to utilise the track time available to dial the car into the tricky Winton track. The conditions did not help.
A mid field finish in Practice ensured he would be in the faster group as Qualifying was split into two groups to cater for the bumper 34 grid. Qualifying this morning saw substantial improvement in the car but was still only good enough for a Top 10 starting position.
Race 1 will be run over 12 laps on Saturday afternoon.
#87 – Ash Walsh – Infants’ Friend FG Falcon
“Yesterday was tough with so many red flags during our sessions, and the lap we copped the last red on was my best. We have a fair bit of work still to do dial the Infant’s Friend Falcon in however George (Miedecke) had gone a different way and we reckon he was up to a second quicker. We scrambled into the Top 10 but we have to get the car better for the first race today”
